Antrium (Gary) Jones, Chief Executive Officer
Antrium (Gary) Jones, is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Empirical Corporation. Mr. Jones guides the overall corporate vision and strategy, and overseas the delivery of services and solutions for all customer contracts. With a deep understanding of financial management and financial & data technologies, Mr. Jones has been instrumental in expanding the company’s technical capabilities to help organizations achieve better outcomes, drive transformational change, and improve operational efficiencies.
Mr. Jones has worked tirelessly to develop an exceptional level of services and solutions the Empirical team delivers, while continually improving processes and innovative solutions offered, ensuring Empirical produces extraordinary results for every customer.
In addition to being responsible for corporate administrative functions, Mr. Jones provides technical guidance and advice to Empirical teams supporting multiple contracts, including ICE, Secret Service, NOAA, and others. This assures our customers receive superior services, issues are addressed quickly, and our teams continually provide improvements and results.
Mr. Jones is a recognized leader and advisor on Federal financial management, enterprise risk management, audit, and IT modernization and automation initiatives. He has worked with multiple cabinet level agencies and Chief Financial Officers on strategies to drive performance improvements. He has helped leaders achieve unqualified opinions on their agency and/or bureau level AFRs, mitigate internal control and material weaknesses, enhance financial operations, and gain powerful data insight to make confident decisions.
Mr. Jones has contributed to the company’s customer successes on a wide variety of engagements, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Labor, Department of State, EPA, Department of Justice – Drug Enforcement Administration, SBA, USDA, Coast Guard, and U.S. House of Representatives.
Prior to founding Empirical, Mr. Jones held management positions in financial management and accounting at Cotton & Company and Deloitte.
Mr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Maryland, College Park. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and holds a TS/SCI clearance. He is an active member of the Association of Government Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Lanie Diane Willis, Comptroller and Supervisory Accountant
Lanie Willis is a certified public accountant and Empirical’s Comptroller responsible for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions. She is also a supervisory accountant consulting on Empirical’s ICE OCFO program contract. She supports the team with month-end close activities, financial reporting, analytics, updating pivot tables for journal entry corrections to ICE’s FFMS financial system, and other account actions.
Ms. Willis brings 20+ years of finance and accounting expertise to Empirical and their customers. Prior to Empirical, Ms. Willis served as a consultant and hands-on accountant for a variety of non-profit and government contractor clients at LDW Consulting and Cordia Resources. She held various accounting management roles at corporations and nonprofits including Director of Accounting Operations at Defenders of Wildlife, and Accounting Systems Manager at Office of Financial Operations and Systems (OFOS). She has extensive financial and analytics systems and software experience, including data entry, troubleshooting, implementation, and training support.
Catherine Straley, Business Development Manager
Catherine Straley is Empirical’s business development manager, responsible for driving new business, establishing teaming partners, and securing contract vehicles. Catherine brings nearly 15 years of experience supporting the financial and IT community at government contractors and corporations to modernize and leverage cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), data analytics, and business intelligence (BI) solutions.
She has successfully driven sales for leading technology solution providers, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Deltek’s Enterprise Resource Planning, Time & Expense, Customer Relationship Management, Human Capital Management, Payroll, Workflow Process Management, Project Management, and Business Intelligence software, and Visual Mining’s self-service BI dashboard solution.
Catherine brings to the company her strong executive-level solution-selling expertise, knowledge of the federal government acquisition process, understanding of complex requirements and challenges federal leaders face, and the ability to present the value of business solutions and services in a manner that aligns with federal leaders’ strategic goals and objectives.
